Bot Firewall Test

Feed ShieldLabs bot detection into your web application firewall and block the IP addresses linked to past bot visits.

ShieldLabs detects automated and headless browsers from signals collected in the browser. The Web Scraping demo shows how to keep bots away from your data. This demo goes one step further and uses those detections to stop a recognized bot on its next visit.

How to use this demo

  1. Run Playwright, Puppeteer, or another headless browser on your machine and open the Web Scraping demo.
  2. Your headless browser is detected as a bot, and your IP address is saved to the bot visit list below.
  3. Click Block this IP to keep that address out. In this demo, you can only block your own IP address.
  4. Open the Web Scraping demo again, as a bot or in your regular browser.
  5. Your IP address is refused before any data loads. Come back here and click Unblock to lift the block.
Note

This demo keeps its block list in its own API. In production, you would push these addresses to your WAF or CDN rules, so blocked requests never reach your servers.
